Ka'a Point is a favorite beach to take guests because it has shady trees, a small protected bay that's great for keiki and great views of Kahakaloa and the West Mauis. On the weekends, we usually go to Sugar Beach in Kihei because it's easy to find our own private sport (it's often very windy so not popular with tourists). Today we visited Ka'a instead. We got a spot in the shade under the trees, went for a dip and walked over to the adjacent beach where the kite surfers take off.
K'a Point is located "behind" the airport off of Alahao St in Kahalui, but it's not in the flight path so you won't see planes taking off or landing. Head towards the airport cell phone waiting lot/taxi lot and just past the lot make a left on Alahao St and the entrance is on your right just before a bridge. The entrance is very rough with lots of potholes. But there is plenty of parking.
