Our Christmas hike was Kahakapao in Makawao Forest. A glorious, shady trail through a forest with fern groves, Cook Pines, kaheklili ginger and signposts to keep you on the path. A few years ago someone decorated one of the Cook pines with Christmas ornaments. It was a delightful surprise. The ornaments gone a few days later.
