Thompson Road is a rolling country road lined by a black lava rock wall that provides beautiful contrast to the lush green hillsides. This is a walk, not a hike. Also a lovely running spot. This is a perfect place to feel Maui. With spectacular views of Lanai, Kahoolawe and the West Mauis this is one of our favorite walks on the island. Park the car across the street from Grandma's Coffee House in Kula and take a 2-3 round trip mile walk (depending on whether you turn left and go uphill just past the mailboxes).
