Kukui Puka is an all time favorite and we find ourselves visiting very often. Today the cows that are normally roaming the upper hillsides were munching the green grass on the pathway to Kukui Puka. We dodged the cow patties for another magical visit and meditation. If the cows are congregated at the entrance they can be a bit aggressive and it may be best to turn back until (if) they disperse. Today it was overcast and broody which made it even more lovely. There was a new pohaku offering with ti leaves and a flower lei. We glimpsed a curious black lizard and a relaxed black ladybug.
Kukuin Puka is adjacent to the Waihee Ridge Trail. We often hike the trail and visit Kukui Puka on the way back.
