This trail is difficult to find, marked with No Trespassing signs, has no parking and it's blocked with a fence and barbed wire about 1 mile in. So it is not recommended. It was maintained years ago by the Water Company before they shut down operations. We tried to call the numbers listed for trail access for a few weeks and did not receive a response. We were in the area and decided to try to locate the tail. We eventually found it but it is no longer properly accessible as it is no longer maintained. However, it was a fun adventure and we met two residents, Dale and Hal who are both farmers. Hal gave us a gift of two huge avocados from his farm. The most interesting part of the hike was the network of waterways tunneled into the mountain to direct the flow of the water. The trail is high above the river and provides glimpses of Waihe'e Ridge just before you reach the gates blocking the rest of the trail.
