After a morning meditation at Baldwin Beach and breakfast at Paia Bay Coffee, we head for Lahaina with plans to drive around the west side to Nakalele Blowhole. We have the map turned on and we see some unmarked trails coming up so we keep a lookout for a trailhead. We pull over in front of some old metal posts that mark an overgrown, but visible trail that leads straight towards the ocean. The short trail leads to a cliffside lookout point with a huge rock pile that looks like a sphinx stretching out into the ocean. We're looking directly across to Molokai. The trail wraps around in a loop back to the entrance.
