Kahakapao Loop Trail in Makawao Forest is a six mile loop with a moderate climb. It is fully covered, you don't need sunscreen or a hat. The tree canopy provides shade and dappled sunlight. If you arrive at dawn or sunset the sun will pierce the through the trees and create dramatic beams of light, perfect for photography.
