This is a beautiful forest trail with lilikoi passionfruit vines hanging above the trail. Lower Waiohuli Trail is in lower Haleakala. It's a loop trail. Just as we reached the darkest part of the trail (about halfway in, deep in the forest) we thought we heard wild boars in the forest around us and we picked up our pace for the second half of the trail. Since wild boars are generally not interested in humans, we had no problem.
