This is a short loop trail at the top of Olinda. The drive up has incredible views and expansive green meadows with horses and cows. This is paniolo (cowboy) country. In the middle of the loop is a trail to the springs that is a series of switchbacks that zigzag down a steep cliff. The ground is unstable and can crumble underfoot so it's necessary to be careful. A European tourist was killed many years ago. The springs are at the bottom of the trail. I've never seen an actual spring, just lots of water forming tiny waterfalls as it drips down the side of a steep cliff. Waihou Springs Trail is a forest trail that is off the beaten path.
