The Lahaina Pali Trail, also known as the zigzagiest road that was ever built, is an out and back that goes straight up and straight down. This trail starts near Ma'alea. It's a steep, dry, exposed single track trail that is best visited in the early morning. There is no shade. Bring sunscreen, a big hat and plenty of water. The views are expansive and spectacular. You'll see Kahoolawe island, Molokini island, Kihei and Ma'alea Bay.
